520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Freedom and its intrinsic connection to reason are central to Descartes' philosophy as a whole, and especially to his Meditations on First Philosophy. Without freedom, his entire inquiry would falter, and without grasping the role of freedom in his work, we cannot fully understand the motivations behind key aspects of his metaphysics. However, not only has freedom been a relatively overlooked component, but its internal relationship with reason has been largely neglected in most studies of his philosophy.
