Each Spring the beautiful houses and gardens of this lovely Southern city have been thrown open to the public. The leisurely charm of the Old South has lingered in Natchez long after it was supplanted elsewhere by the grim efficiency of the twentieth century. Nowhere are more of the old plantation homes still maintained as they were by other descendants of the builders, who keep furnishings and grounds much as they were nearly a century ago.
